New Department Offers Hope for Equality and Rights Says Alliance- May 11 2010

The newly reconfigured Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs offers real potential to promote equality, human rights and to address poverty, according to one of the country’s largest alliances of NGOs, trade unions and community groups. However, Equality & Rights Alliance (ERA) said that this potential should not be squandered by simply applying a sticking plaster to the current equality, human rights and anti-poverty infrastructure.
